MEMORIES...Mr JONES!!!!

23 MEMORABLE MOMENTS OF MR JONES

For the school’s 40th anniversary, Mr. Jones dressed up in a pink tutu to look like a ballerina.

For S.C.I.P.S golf, Mr. Jones used to get very excited every time he did a good golf shoot.

Mr. Jones was very proud of the FOBISSEA team when they came first overall for the first time!

On Mr. Jones’ 50th birthday, he was very surprised and pleased when the staff threw him and enormous party in the hall!

Mr. Jones dyed his moustache different colours for Movember. (He also won...FINALLY!)

The nursery children in Mr. Nicholas’ class crowded around Mr. Jones and started tugging his pants when he entered the classroom!

When the Early Years sports day takes place, Mr. Jones would shake the tunnel when the children were inside!

Mr. Jones would sing Delilah on special events (ALL THE TIME!)

Mr. Jones goes up onto stage and sings with the Early Years during their Christmas Carols.

Mr. Jones likes the songs: YMCA, Green, Green Grass of Home and Happy.

Mr. Jones wore some crazy clothes on Crazy Day for the Harlem Shake!

Once, Mr. Jones fell out of a tree. haha

One time when Mr. Jones was painting with the nursery children and when he stood up after that there was pink play dough stuck to his pants!

During the 50th anniversary week, Mr. Jones interrupted the math’s lesson and started dancing to the Happy song!

Whenever Santa visits SCIPS, Mr. Jones will say ‘hohoho’ a lot of times! In fact, last year the staff placed bets on how many times he would say it! :)

Mr. Jones danced Gangnam style on the 50th anniversary party!

On World Cup Day 2014, Mr. Jones was the goalkeeper for the penalty shoot- out against 24 children from different classes.

When SCIPS United won against Mr. Jones in the penalty shoot-out, he said we didn’t have to have homework for 2 days!

On the last assembly of every academic year, Mr. Jones always says: “Don’t talk to strangers!”

Ms. Cheryl
“Goodbye Mr. Jones, all the best to you. Hope you will remember all the moments at SCIPS.’’

Ms.Higgs
“Hwyl Fawr Mr. Jones, we will miss Delilah songs at all school events. SCIPS won’t be the same without you.’’

Ms.Chee
“We will all miss you Mr. Jones being the principal for 23 years.’’

Mr. Russell
‘’This has been my first year in SCIPS and Mr. Jones quickly helped me to feel settled and part of the team. I shall be very sad at the end of the term as I shall miss Mr. Jones as a mentor and I understand the sorrow he will endure to leave the school which has his heart at its heart’’

We would like to thank the staff and students who helped us to complete the total of 23 memorable moments/messages: Mr. Nicholas, Miss Elaine, Miss Rix, Mr. Martin, Miss Wilson, Miss Chee, Miss Higgs, Miss Cheryl, Mr. Russell, Miss Edith, Miss Martinez, Miss Houghton and Isabel (5JM)

Our students now enjoy participating by commenting on our posts and interacting with our quizzes, debates and much more. This has become more popular in the last 6 months.

We would like to thank everybody for being a wonderful and supportive audience. Our team works hard every week to keep you updated and celebrate your success.

If you would like to celebrate something you have achieved either in or outside of school and you would like us to mention you on our website, please tell Miss Rix.

FOBISIA ART AUCTION

Last Friday, the FOBISIA Art Auction was held in the hall! The efforts of Y4, 5 and 6 were hung on display boards for the parents and adults to observe and purchase. Miss Houghton says she’s isn’t exactly certain how much money was raised but she said it might be somewhere around RM8,000. Wow!!! Along with lots of art pieces sold, some refreshments were bought and eaten by hungry parents and students.

An exciting entry point for Year 5!!

Year 5 Myths and legends entry point

Last last week, year 5 had their myths and legends entry point where everybody in year five had to dress up as a myth or a legend.
First of all we all had to go down to the hall so that we could organise into groups and in those groups we all got to play a fabulous game. Then we had to act a freeze frame so that the teachers could take amazing pictures of us. After all the huge amount of playing games, it was time for the cat walk where we got an opportunity to show our tremendous clothes. Surprisingly, everyone who was there liked it very much as it.

Quiz time!

1.      Which year group had the entry point?
2.      What did they have to dress up as?

3.      Why did we go to the hall?

The Year 5s Visit the Butterfly Farm

Butterfly Farm
(Y5 Entry point for their science topic: Life-Cycles)

Over the past few weeks, Year 5 visited the Butterfly Farm in Teluk Bahang. They started off the trip with a fun education programme, called Incredi-Bugs, where the children and adults could learn about insects and their life-cycles. The best part was when they got to hold the insects that varied from stick insects, leaf insects and a dead leaf praying mantis. Some of them even dared to put their hands in a container full of meal worms. After the interesting presentation, everyone enjoyed an hour of exploring the butterfly garden and indoor exhibit. Later they headed towards the gift shop; passing through an exhibit of amazing bugs and amphibians.
Overall, it was a lovely experience for all the children, including the teachers and parents.
